What to Expect on a Nashville Party Bike and How Does It Work?

The Nashville Pedal Tavern is the ultimate way to experience the vibrant city of Nashville while having a blast with your friends. As the best Nashville party bike, we offer a unique and exciting way to explore Music City and the iconic Honky Tonk Highway, aka Broadway. Our commitment to providing an exceptional experience, exclusive partnerships with downtown bars (which means drink and food specials!), and experienced, fun-loving staff are just some of the things that set The Nashville Pedal Tavern apart from other party bikes in the city.

Let’s dive into what you can expect from your Nashville Pedal Tavern experience.

What Is a Nashville Party Bike and How Does It Work?

A Nashville party bike is a large, pedal-powered “bar on wheels” that seats up to 15 people who pedal together (with a boost from electric pedal-assist) while a trained, sober guide steers, brakes, and calls the route the entire time. Think part bike, part rolling bar, part block party. You bring your own drinks, your guide handles the driving and the DJ duties, and you handle the fun.

Here’s how a ride actually works with The Nashville Pedal Tavern: you check in at our Demonbreun St. headquarters, show your ID, sign the waiver, and get your wristband (give you perks at partner bars). Then you hop on for a 90-minute cruise toward Lower Broadway, pedaling, sipping, and soaking in Music City the whole way.

The name “party bike” makes people assume it’s some kind of secret workout in disguise. It’s not. It’s about participation, not perspiration! Everyone pedals together, lightly; everyone sings along to the same songs; everyone laughs at the same jokes between stops. It’s a shared activity, and shared activities have a funny way of turning a group of individuals into an actual group.

Whether you’re celebrating a bachelor party, a birthday, a college reunion, or trying to convince your coworkers you’re a fun boss, the ride becomes something everyone does together, instead of something everyone just sits through side by side. And yes, the pedaling is easy, almost suspiciously easy. Most groups spend the first five minutes bracing for a workout and the rest of the ride wondering why they bothered.

The Whole Street Gets Involved with The Nashville Pedal Tavern

Your guide’s favorite trick is turning strangers on the sidewalk into part of the ride. Everyone on the bike gets a number, 1 through 15 — then it’s open season. Anyone walking by on Broadway can yell out a number, and whoever’s it, drinks. People who were just walking to their next bar suddenly stop, get invested, and start calling out numbers themselves.

Somewhere between Second Avenue and the honky-tonks, someone on the bike starts a sing-along, and it rarely stays just the riders. Pedestrians join in mid-chorus, bachelorette parties dance along on the corner, and for thirty seconds a group of total strangers is singing the same song together.

Even the traffic gets in on it. Broadway moves slow enough that drivers end up part of the show whether they plan to or not, singing along from their windows, honking to the beat, laughing at whatever’s happening on the bike. The UPS drivers who work the route have become a running favorite with our guides: they’ll call out numbers for the game, throw in a dance move from the truck, or just give a nod and a laugh on the way past.

These are usually the moments guests bring up months later — not the itinerary, not the schedule, but the stranger in a cowboy hat who serenaded them from the sidewalk.

Outline and stops of the Nashville Pedal Tavern Route on Broadway

From Lower Broadway to Downtown: The Tour Route

For 90 minutes, you’ll pedal from the Nashville Pedal Tavern headquarters on Demonbreun St. toward the Cumberland River. As you’re toasting drinks and jamming to carefully curated playlists, you’ll begin to hear the telltale sounds of the Lower Broadway area. Your tour guide will navigate your party bike through blocks around and down the iconic thoroughfare that is downtown Nashville. Being the best Nashville pedal bike tour out there, pedaling on our party bikes automatically earns celebrity status–people on the street and in bars gawk, take pictures, and give out high fives! Joy is contagious on a Nashville Pedal Tavern!

We do not start & end at the same location so please arrange for proper transportation either to or from the locations if needed. We end the tour around the Lower Broadway area within a 5-block radius.

Honkey Tonks in Nashville, our favorite tour stops

90-Minute Nashville Tour with 1-2 Stops:

Keep your phone out to snap pictures of some notable Nashville landmarks as you pedal through Music City. Some of the sights to keep an eye out for include the Bridgestone Arena (where the Nashville Predators play), the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Cumberland Riverfront (great to park the bike for a group photo!), the Johnny Cash Museum, Music City Center, Patsy Cline Museum, the Ryman Auditorium, Symphony Center, Walk of Fame Park and Tootsies.

Another perk that differentiates Nashville Pedal Tavern from the others? We’ve negotiated exclusive partnerships with the hottest bars in Nashville, so the tour includes 1-2 stops for photos or to pop into bars along the way for some VIP drink and food specials. These could include Garth Brooks’ Friends in Low Places, ACME, Alan Jackson’s Good Time Bar, Almost Friday, Big Machine, Draft Kings, Hampton Social, and more!

The route on any given day can change due to road closures, construction, special events, and traffic. The fact no tour is the same is why we have repeat riders on Nashville Pedal Tavern!

What Is the Difference Between a Public and Private Nashville Pedal Tavern Trip?

The short version: a public tour shares the bike with other small groups, while a private tour reserves the entire bike for your group only.

The Nashville Pedal Tavern also runs the largest fleet of party bikes in the city — 13 bikes that each fit up to 15 riders — so we’re set up to handle even the biggest groups looking for the full party bike experience.

Public: If you have a group of fewer than six, the public pedal tour is for you. What better way to meet new people than on a bar bike in Nashville? Hop on to meet new friends and get a real taste of Music City and the Honky Tonks.

Private: Make it a private party as you cruise down Broadway! Perfect for a bachelorette party, family get-together, birthday, or pregame — we’ll make sure your night (or day) on the town is one for the books.

The minimum number of riders is 6 per tour. We recommend booking in advance, as our reputation as the best Nashville party bike tour makes us fill up quickly!

About our Nashville Party Bike

A question we always get about our party bike rides: “Do You Have to Pedal, or Does Someone Drive the Bike?”

Nobody has to pedal, and you’re never the one driving. Every ride comes with a trained, sober tour guide who steers, brakes, and navigates the whole route — pedaling is optional and purely for fun, not required to keep the bike moving.

Our bikes seat up to 15 riders: 12 bike seats plus a 3-person back bench. Ten of the twelve bike seats have pedals; the other two, plus the entire back bench, are pedal-free — perfect for anyone who can’t or just doesn’t feel like pedaling. And even the pedal seats get help: electric pedal-assist kicks in on hills or whenever the group needs an extra push, so no one’s doing all the work solo.

How to book with Nashville Pedal Tavern

Is the Nashville Party Bike Good for People Who Don’t Drink?

Absolutely! This isn’t just a drinking tour, it’s a moving party, and plenty of our riders never crack a drink. BYOB is welcome but never required, and your wristband unlocks food specials at our partner bars too, not just drink deals.

Between the DJ guide curating your playlist, photo stops at Broadway landmarks, karaoke sing-alongs, and the built-in new-friend-making on public tours, there’s a lot to enjoy without a drink in hand. Riders who are sober, pregnant, on designated-driver duty, or just not feeling it that day are always welcome on board.

Is the Nashville Party Bike Safe at Night on Broadway?

Yes, every ride, day or night, is led by a trained, sober guide who steers the bike, manages traffic, and keeps the group together for the whole route, so riders can focus on having fun instead of navigating downtown on foot or lining up a designated driver. Before departure, guides walk every group through our safety rules and Code of Conduct, and the route stays on a well-traveled stretch of Lower Broadway that’s busy and well-lit well into the evening.

Booking and Availability:

Check out this video of how to book a Nashville party bike tour. All our tours can be booked directly on the Nashville Pedal Tavern website. We highly recommend booking a tour a couple of months in advance; there is the possibility of last-minute public tours, but being the best Nashville pedal bike tour, we do fill up! Weekend bookings fill up the quickest, so if you have some flexibility, check out weekday tours!

On the day of the tour, you’ll head to our permanent office at 1504 Demonbreun St. You will head inside, show your ID, and confirm that you and everyone in your party signed the waiver. Then, you’ll receive a wristband which is your official access to the tour, and drink & food specials! The driver will call you over to get on the bike and go over the rules and Code of Conduct. These are set in place to ensure you and your group stay safe.

Caitlyn provided us with an amazing experience for Pedal Tavern! We had a BLAST she was our photographer, DJ, babysitter, driver, and bartender. 10/10 fun!!”

“Lots of fun! Our host, Christian, showed us a good time. The drinks were cold and the play list was perfect.”

“This was truly the highlight of our Cousins Trip to Nashville. Ryan was our “driver” and he was hilarious! Ryan is part comedian, part DJ, part professional air guitarist, and (without a doubt) the best guide in Nashville. We enjoyed careening down Broadway on our Nashville Pedal Tavern and listening to his curated set of tunes. The stop at Redneck Riviera with drink special and a bathroom was a nice bonus. The booking process, online waivers, and beer-buying process was super easy as well. Since I was the coordinator for our 12 cousins/spouses, I appreciated that part. Thanks for the special memories.”

“We have been to Nashville many, many times but never tried out the pedal tavern. Thought it was too touristy, but it’s definitely a must try at least once! Drives you right down Broadway!”
